Enjoy the village and area around Hanmer Springs, there are many places to go for a walk or a bike ride:

• Try a cycle-car to get around and see the village, great for a laugh!
• Go for a walk in the bush or the heritage forest, take a short hike or ride your bike along the bike trails.  Walks and bike routes are graded as easy, intermediate or advanced.
• Walk up Conical Hill or other forest and trail walks
• It’s a short drive to the carpark, then you can walk in the native bush and hear the bell-birds sing along the Waterfall Track
• A short drive can take you up to the high country, the St.James conservation area and the Molesworth Station (New Zealand’s largest farm station!). At the top of the pass you can park and then walk either up to Mount Isobel or to Mount Dumblane

Is it time to challenge yourself, your friends or family? (listed in order of distance from Tussock Peak Motor Lodge)

• The Mini-golf and Maze are great for the young family
• There’s a slightly more challenging Mini-golf  or you can rent a cycle-car to get around and see the village
• Go mountain biking (we have route maps in the office), on your own bike or rent a bike or e-bike to ride around the village or the mountain bike trails
• Golf with mountain views
• Animal Park gets you up close to the animals, for all the family
• Take a jet-boat ride, quad-bike along the river bed, bungy jump, raft or canoe the Waiau river
• You can jet-boat ride, quad-bike the Hanmer valley hillside, go clay-bird shooting or archery

There’s usually something planned (or spontaneous) in Hanmer Springs; an event, sporting challenge, concert or market…

• Music & Arts Hanmer Springs promotes and creates arts and music events in the Hanmer Springs area. Check their site for what concerts, workshops or festivals are coming up.
• A local market is held under the trees in the centre of the village, every Saturday during summer and usually on the first Saturday in the month in winter (in the Memorial hall if wet).
